Office of International Programs invites campus to celebrate International Education Week

Rome, Ga. — Shorter University’s Office of International Programs has slated a weeklong series of events to mark International Education Week, Sept. 18-22.
The week will kick off on Monday, Sept. 18, with Food from Around the Globe, which will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Austin Moses Room. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to come and enjoy delicious international dishes prepared by Shorter’s international students and faculty. Door prizes will be given away.
On Tuesday, Sept. 19, students can explore opportunities to study around the world during the Study Abroad Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Austin Moses Room. Representatives from Spanish Studies Abroad, Saints Bible Institute, VERITAS Christian Study Abroad, Rome with Purpose, and many more will be at the fair to answer questions and help prepare students to study overseas and earn course credit.
Previous study abroad students will take center stage during the Wednesday, Sept. 20, Study Abroad Student Panel, which will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Austin Moses Room. Students will share their experiences offering insights on what to expect while studying abroad. Panel members have studied in Costa Rica, Italy and France.
The School of Fine and Performing Arts and the Library staff will lead a Celebration of International Flavor including music and literature from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, in the Price Learning Center.
International Education Week will conclude with a special dining experience in the cafeteria on Friday, Sept. 22, from 10:45 to 2:45 p.m. A variety of international dishes will be on the menu in honor of the week’s celebration.
