Shorter University Music Major Mary Saintfort to Perform with Rome Symphony Orchestra
Soprano Mary Saintfort, a junior double majoring in vocal performance and communications at Shorter University, will be among the featured performers at the Saturday, April 29, Rome Symphony Orchestra concert. The event, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Rome City Auditorium, will feature Saintfort and other winners of the RSO’s Young Artist Competition.
Earlier this spring, Saintfort won Shorter’s William and Mary Ann Knight Performers Competition; this was her second time winning the competition. She is also a two-time winner of the Regional National Association of Teachers Singing (NATS) competition and of the Rome Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition. She is the daughter of Ricot Saintfort and Cleus Saintfort of Smyrna, Ga. She studies voice under Indra Thomas, adjunct professor of music and voice.
